Meet Some of the Team

Peter Matthews - Managing Director

Having started in an apprenticeship in Cambridge for Frigidaire, then part of General Motors, Peter learnt basic refrigeration. Working in Cambridgeshire meant that normal day to day clients were a rarity and most of the jobs he undertook were for Cambridge University and other "off the wall" projects such as for British and foreign royalty, drug companies, and various rock stars. Peter has been a member of the Institute of Refrigeration since March 2000. He qualified for his City & Guilds 2077 and 2078 (Safe Handling of Refrigerants) in 1996.
In April 2009, Peter became one of the first people in the UK to gain his City & Guilds 2079 (F-Gas Regulations Category 1).
In November 2010 Peter gained his Diploma in Air-Conditioning Energy Assessment (DipACEA Level 3) issued by ABBE # 111114 dated 03/11/2010 and is accredited with the Quidos Accreditation Scheme No: QUID201629.
May 2012 saw Peter elected to prestigious level of Technician Member of the Institute of Refrigeration (TMInstR).
Paul Robinson - Senior Engineer
Starting as an apprentice for Prestcold at the age of 16, Paul has spent all of his working life in refrigeration and air-conditioning. Over the last 30 years he has worked as a service engineer, commissioning engineer and project manager for several major companies in the industry. Some of the clients that Paul has been involved with are the University of Cambridge, Kings College, various rock stars, Northampton General Hospital NHS and Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Trust, to name just a few.
He qualified for his City & Guilds 2078 (Safe Handling of Refrigerants) in 1999 and in September 2009 gained his City & Guilds 2079 (F-Gas Regulations Category 1) qualification. Paul has been a member of the Institute of Refrigeration since 2000.
Tommy Gardner - Service and Maintainance Manager
Tommy started his career as an Apprentice with Supercool Central back in 2009 at the age of 16. After attending Nottingham College, Tommy gained his City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. In 2010 at the age of 18, Tommy was one of the youngest people in the UK to gain his City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas Category 1 Qualification. In July 2014, Tommy achieved his City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Computer Aided Design. Tommy now looks after the Service & Maintenance Department with a team of Service Engineers covering sites across the UK ensuring that system downtime across our sites is kept to an absolute minimum.
Andy Hurlock - Project Manager
Andy has been working in the industry for over 20 years, he had been working with Peter during those years working for other refrigeration and air conditioning companies.
Peter contacted Andy in 2013 to ask him to join the supercool team as an engineer.
Since joining Supercool Andy was soon promoted to Project Manager, Andy now manages the Installation team making sure all projects are completed to the high standards required by the company and within timescales.

"We are committed to making sure our customers are 100% satisfied with the service from Supercool Central. We promise you will not be disappointed."
